Originally an architectural designer, Eric Serafini developed his artistic technique by experiencing all areas of conceptual art. Known for his black and white protagonist paintings, Serafini’s subjects relate to traditional classic oil paintings, featuring characters and scenes from his past.
Born in 1962 near Versailles (France), by Italian parents, Eric Serafini studied in Rouen until high school. In 1980 he studied architecture in Paris, moved to Turin in 1982 to complete his automotive design studies. In his career as designer he has worked for several automakers, from 1985 to 1999 he works as a designer in Modena for Ferrari and Bugatti. In 1999 he won the Arte 2000 prize. Since 2000, he has been working as an artist. Today he lives in an old country house, which he personally renovated in Correggio, province of Reggio Emilia, is married with two daughters.
