Tommaso Ottieri was born in 1971 in Naples, he studied Architecture at the University of Naples and the Robert Gordon School of Architecture. In 1996, Ottieri moved to the Greek island of Santorini. During this time, he founded his first painting studio in the town of Oia. On returning to Naples in 1998, he obtained his Master's degree in Executive Planning and Bio-Architecture, and shortly after this he devoted himself to painting full time.
Ottieri’s training in architecture undoubtedly formed the subject matter of his works - glowing cityscapes and interiors of theatres and churches. By using wax and oil as his medium, his paintings have a texture that fills the works with the drama and motion present in his subject. Currently living and working between Naples and Rome, Ottieri has enjoyed international success as an artist, exhibiting his works in acclaimed art fairs and galleries around the world.
